IsoSeal® Insulation Protection Drainage Board

IsoSeal® Insulation Protection Drainage Board

IsoSeal® Insulation Protection Drainage Board is one of the safest foundation protection systems developed to ensure long-term durability of buildings. By protecting underground walls and the structure's waterproofing systems, it delivers maximum performance throughout the building's lifetime.

Foundation and retaining walls absorb water by capillary action through direct contact with the ground and are continuously exposed to moisture. Combined with insufficient thermal insulation, this can lead to mold and mildew, bad odors, reduced overall durability and shorter building life — and more importantly, serious problems threatening human health.

Therefore, materials that protect insulation against water and water vapor over time, are rot-resistant, mechanically strong and unaffected by heavy site loads must be preferred. IsoSeal® is an insulation protection and drainage board developed precisely for these needs.

IsoSeal® Insulation Protection Drainage Board

How Does It Work?

IsoSeal® is a high-strength drainage panel made from recycled plastic that protects the waterproofing layer of retaining and foundation walls. Its special design creates a continuous air gap between the waterproof wall and the backfill, preventing the waterproof layer from coming in direct contact with the ground. This creates a ventilated cavity that minimizes moisture and provides protection throughout the building's life.

Developed by GooPlast, IsoSeal® is one of the most effective ways to protect your buildings from the harmful effects of water. Offering long-term protection, earthquake resistance, superior drainage performance and environmental sustainability, this product is an indispensable part of modern construction projects. Maximum protection, minimum cost!

IsoSeal® Advantages

Safely shields waterproofing membranes from external factors like soil pressure, construction impact and root growth — extending membrane life and ensuring decades of reliable performance.
Forms a continuous air gap between the waterproofed wall and backfill, allowing the wall to breathe. This ventilated channel minimizes moisture buildup and prevents mold and mildew.
Reduces moisture and dampness levels in basements and underground spaces, creating a healthier indoor environment. Air circulation significantly reduces odor, mold and unhealthy conditions.
The air gap between wall and ground reduces heat transfer and eliminates the cold wall effect. Indoor temperatures stay more balanced and energy savings are achieved.
Its high mechanical strength protects the waterproofing layer from construction impacts, backfill pressure and hard objects in the soil.
Prevents plant roots from penetrating building walls. In green roof and landscape applications, it stops roots from reaching the waterproof membrane and prevents structural damage.
Offers faster and more economical installation compared to traditional protection methods. Provides long-term protection performance with low material and labor cost.
Lightweight and modular — can be carried and applied even by a single person. Stackable packaging takes minimum storage space on the construction site.
Application is unaffected by hot, cold or rainy weather. Its durable material allows uninterrupted year-round work.
By protecting the waterproofing and foundation from external factors, it extends the building's life. Its long-life polypropylene structure maintains performance for decades.
Made from recycled plastics; an eco-friendly and sustainable solution suitable for LEED-certified green buildings.

How to Apply IsoSeal®?

Ground and Surface Preparation
1

Ground and Surface Preparation

Clean the wall surface and remove concrete residues. Apply a waterproofing membrane or bituminous coating to make the surface watertight.

Placement of IsoSeal® Boards
2

Placement of IsoSeal® Boards

Place the boards by applying adhesive so they directly contact the waterproofed surface. Position the boards according to the directional marks printed on them.

Connection and Fixing Process
3

Connection and Fixing Process

Mechanically secure the boards to the retaining wall using suitable fasteners and adhesive. The board joints must be positioned to overlap.

Backfilling Process
4

Backfilling Process

Once IsoSeal® is fully secured, gravel or filter material can be placed at the base to support the drainage function. Direct soil backfill is also possible, though over-compaction is not recommended.

Frequently Asked Questions

IsoSeal® is a high-strength insulation-protection and drainage board made from recycled plastic that shields the waterproofing layer of retaining and foundation walls. It creates a continuous air gap between the waterproofed wall and the backfill, protecting the structure from the harmful effects of moisture throughout its service life.
Thanks to its high mechanical strength it protects waterproofing membranes from soil pressure, impacts during backfilling and root penetration. This extends the membrane's life and keeps the building's waterproofing system working reliably for years.
Installation has four steps: the wall surface is cleaned and made watertight with a waterproofing membrane, the IsoSeal® boards are bonded into place, they are mechanically fixed to the retaining wall with connectors, and finally the backfill is carried out. Board joints are positioned to overlap.
Yes. IsoSeal® is produced from recycled plastics and is a sustainable solution suitable for LEED-certified green buildings. Its long-lasting polypropylene structure retains its performance for decades.
